On June 17 to June 18, the Hawaii Storm traveled to Hilo, Hawai’i to conduct a 2 day camp at the beautiful Panaewa Community Pack. Coach Mike Taylor, along with Kaeo Vasconcellos, Kynan Pang, Kamaile Kahoekapu, and Megan Kinoshita worked with over 70 campers over the 2 days. In addition, Coach Randy Apele and his staff were on hand to lend their expertise. The campers spent the first day working on more basic skills such as ball control skills, dribbling, shooting, and passing. However, on the second day, the kids worked on high level skills such as playing the pick and roll, transition offense and options, and 2 man game. The players and coaches had a wonderful time.
The Hawaii Storm would like to thank Coach Randy Apele and his staff for setting up the camp and giving up their generous time to help organize and run this great camp. We also would like to thank the players we got an opportunity to work with. The camp was full of talented young men and women. They worked hard and wanted to improve. We were very impressed. The Hawaii Storm will be back in September to continue to work with the kids of Hawai’i.
